Clean Elections Texas is fighting to ensure that we can all cast our votes!

At home in. Texas, we are working towards

  • An independent citizen redistricting commission
  • Public participation in the existing redistricting process
  • Judicial selection reform

At the Federal level, we participate in promotion of democracy reforms:

  • The Freedom to Vote Act (TFVA) which sets basic national standards for voting, stops partisan gerrymandering, and ends the dominance of dark money in politics; The Freedom to Vote Act addresses voter registration and voting access, election integrity and security, redistricting, and campaign finance; The Freedom to Vote Act addresses voter registration and voting access, election integrity and security, redistricting, and campaign finance;
  • The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA) which restores and modernizes the original protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA).

Along with like-minded non-profits throughout our region, we helped found  “Fair Maps Texas”, a coalition of  non-partisan organizations, including the League of Women Voters of Texas, ACLU, Common Cause and several others working to reform the redistricting process in Texas in a fair and open manner.
