DALLAS: RANKED CHOICE VOTING INCLUDED FOR FINAL CONSIDERATION
Charter Review Commission Sends Ranked Choice Voting Proposal to City Council
On March 26, 2024, the Dallas City Charter Review Commission voted 8-6 to include the proposal for ranked choice voting in the final list that will be provided to the Dallas City Council for consideration by May 21.

Although ranked choice voting is still a relatively new concept for many, it is gaining traction as an innovative way to make elections more equitable and increase choice for voters. Ranked choice voting also saves taxpayer dollars by reducing or eliminating the need for runoff elections.
